It what might be an ominous sign for VK amateurs, the New Zealand defence force has refused to renew ZL’s trial access to the 60m band effective midnight 24 October 2020.

Apparently the NZDF is investing in new capability on 5 MHz and wants the band cleared of amateur traffic. One can only think the ADF might see this and step up its opposition to VK access to 60m. And given the proximity of VK2,3 and 7 to NZ and the possibility of interference across the ditch, there may be representations from the NZDF to Australia to keep the band clear.
